Miles Edward O’Brien is chief of operations on Deep Space
Nine, transferring from the U.S.S. Enterprise –D, where he had been transporter
chief. Despite occasional bursts of temper, O’Brien is brave and athletic, and
excels at crises management and finding solutions to potentially disastrous
engineering situations. He is married to Keiko Ishikawsa, and they have a
daughter, Molly and a son, Kirayoshi.
